Fortworth downtown area relives its legendary heritage this February end. Folks, its time for the annual marathons. Into its 31st year “The Cowtown Marathon and Expo” takes place on Friday, February 27, 2009 to Saturday, February 28, 2009 bang on Sundance Square. Join in the fun from 11.30 am to 8 pm on Friday and 6 am to 2.30 pm on Saturday.

Here’s an opportunity to experience the inspiring sights and sounds of this well known Cowtown event. The place is going to be full of hundreds of people stomping about Fort Worth streets to join this well loved multi-race event. The Marathon, Ultra Marathon and yet some more will have participants pounding along.

The big tent on Chisholm Trail Parking Lot is marked out for fitness enthusiasts to browse and buy the latest fitness wear and health-related products. Oh there’s going to be a whole lot more. Watch out for UNT Health Services Center sponsoring the free health fair on Friday from 4 pm to 8pm at Flying Saucer Parking Lot.

Its a great op to sign up for the run and get ready for jogging or walking! Soon to become an accredited race, serious runners are to promote health and fitness. Fortworth is going to be under the scanner with local and national runners joining in the fray. Established business houses are affiliating to support the sporting event. With UNT Health Science Center, Miller, Fort Worth Star Telegram, KXAS Channel 5, Chase, Radio Shack, and Sundance Square pitching in - you’re going to love being back Where the West Begins.
