I am quite the traditionalist when it comes to certain things. Taking the kids to the circus has been a customary priority whenever the circus comes to town. Since mine have grown and fled the nest, I usually collect a groups of kids who I know will enjoy the greatest show on earth!

You are right. I am talking about the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey. They are setting up tent in Downtown Baltimore, at the 1st Mariner Arena. I have always enjoyed their spellbinding spectacles - full of hoopla, enchantment and illusion you see at a circus.

Over The Top, from March 21 to April 5, is to be a wacky spectacular, I hear. Dogs fly, Asian elephants skip, hop and groove and cowering Bengal tigers do tricks. With some motorcycle madness hitting the high wire you also have speeding riders in the Globe of Steel.

I’m not going to desert the traditionalist in me. I have ancient ties with the circus company whom I have been enjoying since times gone by. Since 1940’s if truth be told! Ofcourse they have been on since 1884! Creators of the largest traveling show of their time, they are still going strong.

Did you know the circus maintains two circus-train-based shows. The Blue Tour and the Red Tour. These are the largest privately owned trains in the world, stretching a mile long with 60 cars. I’m not going to miss it out and will grab the seats for some good old fashioned entertainment.

Yes I want to see thrilling, soaring acrobats and daredevils! Catch the clowns, dancers, trainers and aerialists. I hear everything’s all new. Even more magical with dazzling lights, powerful music and incredible visual effects. But most of all I go to this favorite show of mine for fantastic gymnastic dogs and horses to majestic Asian elephants and Royal Bengal tigers!
